Steve & Judy started Square Dancing in Sept, 1976 with the Jesters Square Dance Club. Graduated in 1977. Were board members of Jesters. Were introduced to Rounds at the SD club by Les & Ginny Keats. Scott & Barbara Eichhorst had a RD club that Steve & Judy danced at for a couple of years. Then went to John & Norma Gordon until John & Norma moved to Mesa in 1980. Danced some with Wendell & Celia Taylor and Tommy & Geneve Thomas. Squared danced with all of the local SD Clubs. Took International Ballroom lesson to help with Round Dance teaching. Steve & Judy started teaching Duane & Merikay Thurber the dances that John & Norma were teaching. Merikay was pregnant and could not go to class all the time. The name of the first RD club was the Storm Troupers. That name was met with a lot of hostility. Name was changer to Feather & 3. Then became NC #158 in May 1983. Members of URDA from 1978 until it folded. Past Presidents of URDA and held other board positions. 1st RD Festival was Boise, ID, August 13, 1983, Boise RD Festival 1985, 1993, and 2001. Idaho State SQ & RD Festival in 1984, 1989, 1993 & 1999 & 2004. Started Round Dance Clinics in 1985. Helped with weekends with Bob & Mary Ann Rother when they did them at Weber College from 1984 to 1988. Ogden Square-A-Rama in 1984. Single Square Dancer of Utah, 1985. Were members of the Round Dance Teachers of Utah. Attended URDC in Seattle in 1987. Taught and cued at the 17th Annual Singles Convention in SLC in 1987. Attended the Palmquist Round-up in Palm Springs in 1987 and 18th in 1988 and again in 1990. Dick & Dorothy Sidell had us do several weekends in Pocatello starting in 1987, 1988, 1989 & 1990. URDC Convention in SF, July, 1990. RAL Convention 1991 in SLC. Presented an International Tango clinic. Were the local hospitality contacts for this convention. Picture was on Round Dancer Magazine November 1990. Held Cuers Schools for 3 years starting in 1992. Have choreographed many dancers that have been published.
